Leading Edge has staff with Economic Development expertise in a variety of public and private projects.

In recent years, Leading Edge has been directly involved with aspects of wind farm development to include governmental interface, landowner relations and property tax abatement applications. These wind farm developments have ranged from $80 to $200 million investments.

Economic Development Services available through Leading Edge include the following…

· Assist Counties, Communities, Non-Profit organizations and For-Profit companies with defining economic development goals and defining short and long term strategies to achieve same.

· Provide technical assistance/prepare community or county proposals to prospective new companies or existing business & industry considering expansion plans.

· Identify Federal, State, County and Community economic development incentive programs available to our client, based on project particulars.

· Coordinate and complete appropriate grant applications to Federal, State agencies and/or private foundations on behalf of our client and the applicable taxing entity.

· Assist client in development of Marketing Materials and implementation of Marketing Strategies to achieve desired results.

· Serve as our client’s focal point to coordinate all economic development issues with their clients and/or prospective new companies.

The Top of Iowa Welcome Center was built for approximately one-third the cost of a typical facility. Annual operational costs are roughly two-thirds that of the typical two-sided rest area along an interstate highway.

· Assist Department of Transportation officials to evaluate potential for public/private partnerships for Rest Area/Welcome Center development.

· Assist local counties and communities with potential for entering partnerships for Rest Area/Welcome Centers to fully evaluate the long term economic development potential.
